PROJECTS LIST

Between Markets and Margins

Between Markets and Margins explores the clash between gentrification and community resilience in Peckham, South London. Through striking still-life images and immersive soundscapes, the project captures the tension between local identity and the forces of globalisation, offering a powerful glimpse into a neighbourhood in flux.

Global tastes, local shelves: Brazilian corned beef - bought at K&A Bargains.

Everyday objects—like tomatoes, sardines, and discarded bottles—become symbols of cultural survival, transformation and loss. Combined with the voices of locals, these images reveal the quiet struggles of a community caught between nostalgia and inevitable change, challenging us to reflect on the impacts of gentrification.

The exhibition will feature photographic prints, a sound installation with local voices and street sounds, and a community table with objects that invite visitors to engage with the material world of Peckham.

This project calls us to rethink how we build inclusive, thriving businesses and communities. By elevating the ordinary into powerful symbols of resilience, Between Markets and Margins invites us to confront the unseen forces shaping our neighbourhoods and imagine a more connected, just future.
